The group of seven stands out as the first to participate in the NTC in Winthrop history and the only collegiate ensemble in South Carolina to advance to quarterfinals […] ROCK HILL, SOUTH CAROLINA - For the first time in school history, Winthrop University's Trumpet Ensemble will compete in the live round of the National Trumpet Competition (NTC), scheduled for March 12-16, 2025, at Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, Texas.The university's ensemble will also be the only collegiate ensemble from South Carolina.
